What: A Night of Temptations

Where: Devil May Care

The lowdown: Resolutions be damned as downtown's newest lounge hosted its opening party, A Night of Temptations. Devil May Care, a new bar and restaurant that took over the former Sofia's space in late November, officially celebrated its debut with a red-hot affair.

A guest list brimming with local Instagram influencers were treated to cocktails, Mediterranean-inspired bites, thumping music, and a dancer with a candelabra on her head. As DJ Mel spun tunes, guests sat for tarot readings and sipped house cocktails like the aptly named Hellfire.

As the evening continued, so did the entertainment, which culminated in a belly dancing performance by Amae Danseuse and Laman, with Danseuse donning that aforementioned fiery accessory.

Devil May Care opened November 28 and is the brainchild of local firm Nova Hospitality. According to an earlier release, it specializes in craft cocktails and features a menu designed by executive chef Jon Oh, who previously worked with big-name chefs like Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Marcus Samuelsson, and Geoffrey Zakarian.
