Jazz Night

Downtown Austin’s sexy underground lounge, Devil May Care, is pulling out the strings with the launch of Underground Sounds. Every Wednesday swing into an intimate supper club atmosphere, featuring the sultry sounds of a live jazz trio, for upscale specialty bites, curated wine pairings and more.

Underground Sounds offer an exceptional prix fixe menu featuring the restaurant’s signature Mediterranean-inspired flavors. Guests will experience three delicious courses and have the option to enjoy a carefully curated wine pairing with each dish. The list features a variety of both red and white wines by the glass or bottle, chosen to harmonize with the flavor profiles of the dishes. Red wines include Bodegas Volver Tarima, Marghe Langhe Damilano, Maestro and more. White wines include Raeburn, Reva Bianco Langhe, Langlois-Chateau and more.

The culinary journey begins with a mezze platter of devil’s eggs, house hummus, muhammars, mediterranean olives, gruyere, wagyu beef tartare, prawn cocktail crudite and pita. For the main stage, choose your favorite protein of chicken, octopus, falafel, hanger steak shawarma, lamb ribs or jumbo prawns served alongside fragrant rice, roasted vegetables, curry cauliflower puree, tzatziki and house pomegranate bbq. And to end the night, indulge in the can’t miss house baklava paired with a non-traditional twist on Turkish coffee affogato.

“The platters provide an opportunity, front and center, to try everything on our menu," said Jon Oh, Culinary Director of Nova Hospitality. “Between the jazz music and curated wine pairings, the evening allows guests to explore and learn about their own palettes while enjoying an environment unlike any other in Austin.”

Devil May Care is partnering with Monks Jazz, Austin’s premiere improvisational jazz group, to bring the elegant escape from the mundane mid-week grind and hectic hustle of downtown Austin. Devil May Care will have rotating musicians every Wednesday, starting with Elias Haslanger on September 22nd.

"Devil May Care feels like it was perfectly tailored for the intimate jazz experience,” said Colin Shook, founder of Monk Jazz. “From the food to live music, the evening allows guests to activate all five senses.”
